Terms of use
These terms are short because the product's boundaries are simple: we organise your dispute and prepare documents, you make the decisions, and a licensed attorney is the only source of legal advice.
Legal information, not legal advice
SueLandlord is a legal-information product. It is not a law firm, no attorney-client relationship is created by using it, and nothing it generates — letters, estimates, assessments, checklists — is legal advice. Statutory figures it computes, such as the remedies under Texas Property Code §92.109, describe what the statute allows, not what you will recover. For advice about your specific situation, consult a licensed Texas attorney; the app includes a free legal-aid screening precisely because some tenants qualify for free representation and should use it.
You are responsible for what you send and file
You review, sign, send, and file your own documents. Before sending a demand letter or filing anything, verify the facts in it are true and complete — a demand built on wrong facts is your demand, not ours. Deadlines computed by the product are aids, not guarantees; statutory deadlines run regardless of whether a notification reached you.
Purchases and the recovery guarantee
Paid features are one-time purchases through the App Store or Stripe. The filing packet carries a recovery guarantee: if your case met the documented-evidence bar at purchase and you recover nothing within 90 days, we refund the purchase on request. The guarantee covers our fee, never a promise about your case's outcome.
Your content stays yours
Everything you put in — evidence, facts, documents — remains yours. You grant us only the license needed to store, process, and render it back to you. Deleting your account deletes our copy, as described in the privacy policy.
Acceptable use
Use the product for genuine tenant disputes. Do not use it to harass anyone, to fabricate evidence, or to assert claims you know to be false — a knowingly false demand can expose you to liability, which is the opposite of what this product is for.
Texas, and changes to these terms
The product covers Texas residential tenancies and is governed by Texas law. When these terms change materially, the date above changes and the app will tell you. Continued use after a change is acceptance of it.
